Nawa! Welcome. I am a citizen of the Pawnee nation, and I live in Lawrence, Kansas. I write about culture, politics, Indian Country, education, and more.

I am the Dean of the College of Natural and Social Sciences at Haskell Indian Nations University. Prior to becoming an administrator, I taught at Haskell, the University of Kansas and the University of Oklahoma. Prior to entering into higher education, I worked in information technology, public health, and mental health.

My research primarily focuses on tribalism, which I define as peoplehood, sovereignty, self-determination, and respectful coexistence. I also research Tribal Colleges within the context of higher education, community, and epistemology; conflict and peace narratives with an emphasis on literary and visual representations of war, captivity and trauma; and the history and politics of trust responsibility.
